Changes in the Summer Walking Tour Schedule

Natchitoches, LA, June 30, 2015 – On Tuesday, June 30, 2015 Cane River National Heritage Area (CRNHA) announced a change in the downtown walking tour schedule. “Our tours are currently offered Tuesday through Saturday at 11am and 2pm. However, we’ve reached the point in our year where it’s just too hot to walk for 45 minutes during the hottest part of the day,” said Rebecca Blankenbaker, Director of Public Outreach. “Beginning July 1st, we will offer one tour at 10am. We will continue this schedule until August 31.”

Walking tours of the Natchitoches National Historic Landmark District are free to the public and family friendly. Tours begin at the Natchitoches Visitor Center located at 780 Front Street.

Special reservations for large groups may contact Rebecca Blankenbaker in advance at 318.356.5555.  Regular tours will be offered Tuesday through Saturday at 10AM.

The downtown walking tour program is sponsored by Cane River National Heritage Area in partnership the Natchitoches Historic District Development Commission.
